From Mohammed V Airport to Casablanca: train, taxi or private transfer?
Updated October 19, 2026 · 5 min read
If you arrive tired, late, or with more than a backpack, prebook the private transfer from the airport to your hotel: €17.50 per person, 4.8 out of 5 from 628 reviews, which makes it the most reviewed airport-to-city transfer in Casablanca. If you travel light, arrive in daytime and do not mind changing at a station, the train is cheaper by a wide margin.

The distance, and what it means
Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) lies roughly 30 km south of the city centre, so this is a real trip, not a hop: the transfer listings give 45 to 50 minutes by road, and the train takes about as long. Neither is quick, so plan for it when you book the first night.
The train
An ONCF train station sits under Terminal 1 and the trains run to Casa Voyageurs, the city’s main station, about every hour. The airport’s own published fare is 50 MAD in second class, roughly €5, and sources give the ride as 30 to 45 minutes. Times and the last train are what you should check on the ONCF site before you land: a late flight and an hourly service are a poor match.
The catch is the second leg. Casa Voyageurs is not your hotel. From there you still need a taxi or the tram, with your luggage, and you pay for that on top. The train saves money and costs effort.
The taxi
The third option is a taxi. We have no reliable fare to quote, so we give no price. The rule is the usual one: agree the fare before you get in, and decide beforehand whether you are paying for the whole car. The listing of the private transfer itself says that prebooking helps you avoid being overcharged, which tells you what the problem is.
The private transfer
| Offer | Duration | From | Rating | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport to city, private transfer | 45 – 50 minutes | €17.50 | 4.8 (628 reviews) | door to door, help with luggage |
| Airport to city centre, private transfer | 1 hour | €23.78 | 4.8 (22 reviews) | flight monitoring, door to door |
| Hotel to the airport, private transfer | 45 minutes – 1 hour | €17.50 | 4.7 (346 reviews) | air-conditioned, Wi-Fi, for the way back |
All three are priced per person, so for a group check the total at checkout. The second is dearer and has far fewer reviews; the only difference the descriptions name is flight monitoring, which matters if your flight is often late. Ask on the booking page how long the driver waits if you are delayed. Do the same for the way back: a transfer you booked for the morning of your flight needs a pick-up time you can trust.
If you have hours to spare
A long layover is a different case. The Casablanca layover tour with airport transfer costs €99 per person, lasts 6 to 8 hours and includes the round trip to the airport, with the largest mosque in Africa, the boardwalk and the Central Market on the route. It is rated 4.7 from 110 reviews. It only works if the gap between flights is long enough for the whole thing plus the airport procedures; do the sum with your own flight times.
If you will rent a car
If Casablanca is only the start of a longer road trip, collecting a car at the airport saves the transfer altogether. You can compare rental cars for Casablanca; read the excess and the deposit in the terms before you pay, and think twice about driving in the city on the day you land after a long flight.
What I would do
Early or late arrival, children, big bags: the prebooked transfer. Daytime arrival, light bag, short stay near Casa Voyageurs: the train. Taxi: only if you are happy to negotiate at the kerb.
