Hammam in Casablanca: private spa package or a local bathhouse?
Updated October 19, 2026 · 4 min read
If you want a hammam in Casablanca without working out where to go, the spa and private hammam package with car transfer is the one real option: €99 per person, two hours, 4.7 out of 5 from 107 reviews. It is a spa product with a hammam and a massage, which is a different thing from the neighbourhood bathhouse many people picture.

What the listing says
The description speaks of two hours in a traditional Moroccan hammam bath with a massage, with the hotel transfer included. That is all the listing tells us. It does not say how the two hours are split between bath and massage, what kind of massage it is, or what “private” means in practice: your own room, a couple’s room, or only a private slot. Check these on the booking page before you pay.
There is one other offer of the same kind, a spa and private hammam package with transfers at €150.75, also two hours. It has three reviews, so there is not enough to compare it with the first.
How a bathhouse visit differs
A local hammam is built around the bath routine, not around a treatment room. Typically you wash with black soap, have the skin scrubbed with a rough exfoliating glove, and sometimes use a clay called ghassoul, all in a warm steam room. Attendants offer these services for extra fees. Traditional hammams are usually separate for men and women, by building or by hours, so ask when your group can go.
What you take with you matters. Reception desks normally sell soap and a glove, but bring a change of underwear, any toiletries you prefer and, unless a treatment includes one, a towel. The foundation behind the Hassan II Mosque runs its own hammams, but its website has announced an exceptional closure of its health baths for works in October 2026; check there whether they have reopened.
The price gap is the point. A neighbourhood hammam costs a small fraction of €99 (ask locally for current prices), while the spa package adds the transfer, a treatment room and a massage. What you give up is the local atmosphere, and what you gain is not having to ask anyone how it works.
Which one
For a first time, with no wish to ask for directions, the package is easy, and its 4.7 rating is high. If you are curious about the real routine and comfortable asking questions, a bathhouse costs a fraction and is the more authentic experience.
When it is not worth it
If you are short of time, two hours plus transfers is a large block of an afternoon. And if the traditional bathhouse is what you came for, check what the package really includes before spending €99.
